This project has made available for the most diffuse distribution the kio-slave sysinfo:/ developed by openSuSE. To it i (and other people) have been added other functions like the sensor for the case temperature and a button linked directly with the repository (only for apt and demands kio-apt). The kio-slave shows various information about your pc too, like cpu speed, total and available RAM, kernel version and mounted disk with various information on them. The last release is the 1.8.2.

To see this simply type in the konqueror's address bar the command:

#: sysinfo:/

and the kio-sysinfo will appear! Obviously only the information that are available on your pc will appear, for example, if there isn't the temperature sensor its section won't appear. The button "repository" is only for distributions that use APT (debian based) and depends by kio-apt (kio-slave apt:/) otherwise it won't be shown.

You can create a link on your desktop or in the kicker to open directly the kio-slave:

Click with the right button on desktop and choose:

#: Create > Link to an address(URL)

In the "name" section somethig you want (like "my computer") and in the URL section write simply "sysinfo:/". Click ok and a icon will apeear on your desktop: click on it to open the kio-slave!

Click with the right button on kicker and choose:

#: Add application to panel > Add a non-KDE application

In the window that appear write "konqueror" in the section "Binary" and "sysinfo:/" in the section "Command line arguments". Click on ok and on the kicker will appear a button to open thekio-sysinfo!

The kio-slave was translated in various languages, at this time are supported: Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Czech, Hungarian, Russian.

The packages and the sources are available in the repository; the supported distributions are: Kubuntu, Debian, Mandriva, PCLinuxOS, Fedora, ArchLinux e Slackware, Gentoo. I can maintain only the packages fors Kubuntu Feisty 32bit and Debian Testing 32bit, so the others packages can be not up to date at the last version released (because are created by occasional maintainer).
